ADHD Fast Track Evaluation for Pilots
Specialized Evaluation in Texas
The FAA's ADHD Problem
"A proper evaluation is not a diagnosis. It is a defensible record."
The FAA is notoriously strict regarding ADHD. A childhood diagnosis, a brief prescription for Adderall in college, or even a suspect note from a primary care doctor can trigger a massive bureaucratic hurdle when applying for or renewing a medical certificate.
Pilots who suspect they have ADHD—or who have been flagged by the FAA for past records—need a highly specific, standardized cognitive evaluation. A generic letter from a therapist will not suffice and will likely result in delays or denial.
What We Do NOT Do
- •We are not an AME. We do not issue medical certificates.
- •We do not grant Special Issuances. Only the FAA does that.
- •We do not prescribe medication. Psychologists do not prescribe.
The Fast Track Advantage
"The Fast Track evaluation is designed for pilots who meet specific FAA criteria, avoiding the full HIMS battery."
The FAA allows certain pilots to utilize the ADHD Fast Track pathway. This streamlined process focuses on a thorough clinical interview and records review, rather than a full battery of neurocognitive testing. If you meet the criteria, this saves significant time and money.
